Leitrim Development Company is formally appointed to deliver the Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013 which is set to distribute €10.8 Million throughout the county until 2013.
The aim of the Programme, also known as LEADER, is to improve the quality of life of the people and to diversify the rural economy of Co Leitrim. The measures supported under the programme are listed below:
Diversification into non-agricultural activities
Business creation and development
Encouragement of tourism activities
Basic services for the economy and rural population
Village renewal and development
Conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage
Training and information
All Measures with the exception of Training and Information may be complemented by the availability of Analysis and Development grant aid support.
Whether you have a specific idea in mind, or are just curious as to the opportunities available, we have prepared a brochure which takes you through the various funding measures, the rates of grant aid available per measure and the application process.

Should you have a Project you would be interested in progressing with, please complete the Expression of Interest and return it to the main office in Drumshanbo. This form is not an official Application Form; it merely is a means for assessing if your proposal meets the general eligibility criteria of the LEADER programme.
If the proposal is eligible in principle you will visited by a Development Officer and assisted through the full application process. The decision on the Expression of Interest does not prejudice your proposal if you decide to progress to the full application stage.
