If you are registered for VAT always remember to quote your VAT number when incurring business expenses outside Ireland.

The supplier should not charge you VAT.

If you already have paid the VAT you can contact the ‘revenue’ office of the country involved and follow their procedures to claim it back. VAT rules differ throughout the EU.
