Carbon tax is one area that is hotly tipped to be included in the December budget.
There are illustrations being used in a report issued by the commissioner for taxation, and these could be taken as hints, as to what is going to happen.
Here is a list of the potential increases which may come into effect –
- unleaded petrol – up 5 cents per litre
- Household gas – up 6%
- Household fuel (heating oil) – up 9%
- Coal – up 14% !
- Briquettes – up 12.5%
Easier said than done in these cash strapped times, but if you can afford to stock up in the purchase of these essentials prior to budget day, you could save significant money, assuming the increases come into efefct on Budget day. (December 9th).
